Mini
Shoe Gift Package Instructions:
This shoe fits on an
8 ½" x 11" sheet of paper.
Because it is small you can use regular 20 lb to 24 lb bond paper. Print
or copy it directly on plain, colored, or scrapbook paper. You may use cardstock, but is a little
more difficult to work with because of the small size and is usually not
necessary since they do not hold large items. The template prints in gray so it
is less noticeable on your paper.
If you have dark scrapbook paper, print on the “inside” or light side
and reverse your folds so the print shows.
The opening of this
shoe is approximately 2 ½" high, with a square opening of about 2" x
2". You will need a 24"
shoelace or 24"-28" of ribbon or jute. It is helpful to have a little
extra ribbon or jute to trim the ends or tie a knot in the ends after lacing.
Steps:
2. Color in the edge of the sole of the shoe with
marker, colored pencil, or crayon.
3. Add any stickers or stamps (Color in stamp image
if desired.)
4.
If using cardstock, take a ruler or straight
edge and place it next to the dotted folding lines. Hold the ruler in place while you run the blade of your
scissors over the dotted line to score the cardstock. This will allow you to fold it neatly.
5. Now you are ready to carefully cut out the
pattern.
6.
Use a paper punch to carefully make the holes
for the shoelaces.
7. Fold the flaps along the dotted lines to the
inside of the shoe.
8.
Run a glue stick along the heel flap edges.
9.
Take clear tape and tape the edges in place. This will secure the shoe to hold
items.
10. Take
2 purchased dots of glue and secure the side flaps of the tongue inside the
shoe. These work best because of
the small size. You may also use a
glue stick and small pieces of tape.
11. Now
select your choice of shoelace and lace the shoe, making sure you have equal
amounts of shoelace on both sides of the shoe. Do not pull too hard or you may tear the paper.
12. If
needed, place tissue paper, a napkin or paper towel in the toe and/or heel as
filler to raise the level of your candy so it can be seen.
13. Add
tissue paper, a coffee filter, cupcake liner, or cellophane bag to hold your
treats, gift or decoration.
14. Use
your shoe to decorate for a party or give the gift and make someone smile.

preparing party favors for guests to take home, or just giving a “Thinking of
You” friendship gift, the package is as important as the gift. Make it special! There are many ways to do this. The templates included here will allow
you to make 4 different sizes of baskets out of envelopes. These are perfect for Easter or other occasions such as Birthdays and Mother’s day.

template for your envelope and cut it out.

Don’t forget
your imagination. Have fun with it
and you will enjoy giving it as much as the person delights in getting it. If you have an odd sized envelope, just
measure in an equal distance on both sides, leaving a handle strip and cut out
the side rectangles. Try tracing
your envelope onto paper first and experimenting with where you want your
handle. Remember to be careful
with the handle as it is mostly decorative, especially with heavier items.
